Description
The XPS-60 is the newest generation in Roland’s expandable synthesizer line, delivering top-tier performance features alongside many improvements requested by players. It includes all the essential sounds—acoustic and electric pianos, plus other stage staples—while adding fresh regional tones and support for even more via World Expansion titles on Roland Cloud. Additional highlights include an Audio Player with independent pitch/speed control, per-tone scale tuning, and a mic input with dedicated vocal effects. With its class-compliant USB-C port, the XPS-60 easily connects to laptops and mobile devices for backing tracks or music software integration.
Enhanced Sounds from the XPS-10 and XPS-30
Building on the popular sound libraries of the XPS-10 and XPS-30, the XPS-60 expands the palette with the latest Roland technology. New sounds include instruments and percussion from India and Indonesia, such as tabla and kendang. You can also import/export Scene data individually, making it easy to share your custom setups with other XPS-60 users.
World Expansion for Global Instruments
For even greater variety, explore the World Expansion series on Roland Cloud. These titles offer region-specific waveforms and tones, giving you access to instruments rarely found in synthesizers—such as santoor, sitar, harmonium, bansuri, and dholak. Expansions are available for purchase through Roland Cloud Manager.
Designed to Inspire
Like earlier models, the XPS-60 is lightweight, durable, and highly playable. Its keyboard action—borrowed from the FANTOM-0 series—provides improved feel and expressive range. For extra mobility, it can even run on a rechargeable mobile battery.
Fast Tone Access and Creative Control
The streamlined panel layout and large display make navigation effortless. Quickly select tones with category buttons, store favorites for instant recall, and refine your sound with dedicated Modify controls and effects. You can layer, split, transpose, or apply arpeggiator and chord memory functions, then save complete setups as Scenes for one-touch recall.
Flexible Audio Player
The onboard Audio Player lets you perform with backing tracks directly from a USB flash drive. Assign WAV/AIFF files to phrase pads and trigger them during your set, with independent pitch and tempo adjustment for each file—ideal for matching vocal ranges or performance tempos.
Versatile Phrase Pads
The XPS-60’s phrase pads do more than play songs. Use them to trigger drum sounds, fire off samples, or manage parts in the step sequencer by muting and selecting tracks on the fly.
Per-Tone Scale Settings
Unlike previous XPS models, scale settings can now be applied individually to each tone, ensuring quick access during performances. With Transpose Sync enabled, your custom scales automatically adjust to the keyboard’s transpose setting.
Mic Input with Vocal Effects
The built-in microphone input includes level control and dedicated effects, removing the need for extra gear. Options include vocal reverb, Auto Pitch for modern electronic-style vocals, and a vocoder for shaping keyboard tones with your voice.
Step Sequencer for Creative Backing
The eight-track step sequencer makes it simple to build arrangements or generate interactive backing parts using internal sounds. The arpeggiator and rhythm features sync seamlessly, adding fresh energy to your performances.
Seamless Computer and Mobile Integration
Thanks to its class-compliant USB-C audio/MIDI interface, the XPS-60 connects smoothly to computers and mobile devices. Perform and record with music apps, stream audio through your phone, or take advantage of DAW control directly from the keyboard’s panel.
